I had a lot of fun this weekend vendoring. Cosplaying was a success. As Pikachu & Ash, we got attacked...well, mainly Ash. She was asked to be humped and told "I love you" several times. I just got a hug. As Mario & Luigi, we got a lot of smirks and weird looks. Overall, a very good weekend :]

Now I have to study. Finals are on Thursday! I know I have been lagging with updating my site with the goodz but I've been busy with school. Once school is out I will be adding more items to the site...and hopefully making new ones as well. Then, I'll be off to Mexico!

Ukyo + Robot To-Do List

Finished the Ukyo costume for my friend. Just need to do the white arm bands and the white belt. Hopefully it fits her. I know it's long enough to cover the bum but it's kind of big. Luckily it's supposed to be wrapped around and then kind of loose over the belt.

This actually didn't take me as long as the Ranma one because it was straightforward. My Rukia shinigami kimono was enough practice... think it took about 1hr. Again, 100% cotton...trim is actually a lavendar but it looks kind of white on the picture.

Adjustments made from the pattern...tapered bottom rather than straight edge and didn't do the open arm-hole. Didn't feel like complicating things.

I'm trying to think if I should use a mustard colored vinyl for the spatula belt. Do we have time for that? I've tried sewing with vinyl before and it was complete fail. Hmm... I'll have to think about it.

Anyway, finished making my Robot To-Do Lists for AX. About to put it on the website. I am so freaking tired. Time for some Cowboy Bebop and nappage.

Ranma Progress + Fast Food Buttons

So pretty much finished with my Ranma top. The yellow lines in the front are what I still need to do...the buttons. And I completely forgot I need a slit up the sides so I have to redo that.

Total time: 4 hours (not including prepping pattern & cutting fabric).

I actually didn't use 2 pieces of the pattern...the extension for the front. I totally screwed it up and realized I could do without it.

Issues: I put the sleeves on slightly wrong so the armholes are tight and awkward (that's what she said). And the front isn't quite closing all the way...hopefully if I wear a different bra that will change.

Fabric: 100% cotton. It's light and flimsy...no lining. Perfect for LA weather...hopefully.

Now I have to work on the Ukyo and the dreadful Yin dress. I really hope I can pull that off. I don't want to wait until next year to wear it. haha.

I also changed the packaging on my Fast Food buttons and they'll be up on my site when I'm done blogging. PROGRESS!

Next on the business checklist... Robot To-Do Lists and plushies. Trying to finish as much as possible so I can be done by next Sunday. I want to spend Monday/Tuesday packing.

Wow...I almost forgot what today was. My days are starting to blur from lack o' sleep and too much excitement.

rukia cosplay progress

i'm cosplaying and attending fanime for the first time ever and it's in 2 weeks. an old high school friend has graciously invited me to be a part of her bleach shinigami girl group and has helped us all get our patterns going so we can sew our own costumes.

i finally finished my under kimono...the white one. tomorrow, hopefully i'll make some progress on finishing the black one.

there is still quite a bit i need to do as far as accessories...ahhh. i'm thinking about doing her school girl outfit for sunday but that'll all depend on if i can find the shirt. i might have to make my own skirt because i can't find a gray full-pleated skirt anywhere :[
