Marie Antoinette & The Holiday

Marie Antoinette

Aesthetically pleasing, modern portrayal of Marie Antoinette from Austrian to Dauphine to Queen. Music, clothes, wigs, make-up were amazing. Shows her 7 year hardship of trying to consummate her marriage, her love for extravagance and rebellion against French royalty rules, her love affair, and then her fall. It didn't go into the later part of her life with the treason and the guillotine but still good. Jason Shwartzman and Kirsten Dunst really do a good job of showing their immaturity, fear, and then comfort with one another. And damn the dresses were amazing!

The Holiday

A typical, holiday chick flick. It's like they NEEDED the all-star lineup in order to sell this movie, because without the names I don't think it would've made any money. It was totally corny and Cameron Diaz can't act. I expected more out of Kate Winslet and Jack Black's relationship but it was more about the other two. It's basically about two women who got dicked by their men and try to escape only to find something better. How lucky are they that they learn to get over someone and find someone new within two weeks. HA! I kind of wish I just downloaded it instead of dishing out however many dollars at Blockbuster.
